Everybody was excited for them and congratulations came thick and fast.
But there had been an issue. They can not get wed because they're both ladies. Rather than enjoying the instant and organizing a marriage, they must either travel to a jurisdiction which permits same-sex wedding or never make the final commitment. It is terrible such discrimination still exists, based totally on 1 or 2 spiritual principles, biases and baseless fears. Much worse, people who don't personally hold those convictions ,eg Work MPs, cater to those folks that do in the interests of votes.
Fed. Cupboard even has an overtly gay minister, Penny Wong, but is still rejecting her and others equality. I am not sure how some of her comrades can look her in the eye.
